According to Henry Epp's book, (Leadership), "Mainstream psychology and related disciplines have traditionally treated belief as if it were the simplest form of mental representation and therefore one of the building blocks of conscious thought. ", meaning that, to mainstream psychology, beliefs are simple but still important to the conscious thought.How Can It Influenciate Your Professional/Personal Choices?
If a leader believes he is better than the ones he leads, he would have a leadership that would be more "closed", because he doesn't believe that others sugestions can be as good as his. And a leader that believes that the ones he leads are as good as him or better than him, this leader, is going to have a leadership that is more "opened", accepting the sugestion and ideas of others.

Mental Model:
What is it?
According to Daniel Goleman, author of the best seller Emotional Intelligence, the sources of mental models are the way humans organize and give meaning to their experiences.
The Mental Model is build with the experiences you been trought, it is the way that your brain see and "read" the things that happens to you and to your surroundings. Your generation is also important to your mental model, one example is that, someone from my generation, if this person have a need to do a research for school, he is probably going to search on the internet, and someone from the generation of my granpa is said to do the same thing, this person will probably search on books.
How Can It Influenciate Your Personal/Profissional Choices?
If you, at somepoint of your life, is assaulted, you will start to be more paranoic and cautious when walking on the streets, if you weren't ever assaulted you may be more relaxed.
If someone have a mental model more directed to technology, this person is probably going to have a job less traditional, and with more technology.
